Superheros for a day!

Edmontonians rappelled down 29-storeys of The Sutton Place Hotel in downtown Edmonton, just like a superhero!

The Easter Seals Drop Zone was held on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Sutton Place Hotel, located at 10235 - 101 Street, Edmonton, AB.

Participation in this adventure of a lifetime required that all rapellers raise a minimum of $1,500 in pledges while challenging their comfort zone all for a great cause.

All participants also attend a mandatory training session prior to the event at Vertically Inclined Rock Gym, located at 8523 Argyll Road, Edmonton.  www.virticallyinclined.com

Participants got into theme of things with dressing as their favourite Superhero as you are a Superhero to Easter Seals kids.

Funds raised during the event will support children and adults with disabilities and special needs in Alberta through equipment and camp programs of Easter Seals Alberta.

In Canada between 2001 and 2006 the number of persons who reported having a disability increased by three-quarters of a million people (+21.2%), reaching 4.4 million in 2006. At the same time, the non-disabled population experienced lesser growth, increasing by 3.3% to reach 26.2 million people.
