Through Easter Seals Alberta, individuals with disabilities can apply for lower travel costs by allowing their attendants to travel for free.

The purpose of the reduced fare is to make it easier for people with disabilities to travel. A person with a disability accompanied by an adult attendant may travel for a reduced fare on any participating Canadian coach operators or Via Rail.

The Disability Travel Card identification allows an attendant, travelling with the person with a permanent disability, to travel at no cost under the following terms and conditions:

  1. The person with a permanent disability and the adult attendant must travel together for the entire trip.
  2. The adult attendant must be capable of assisting the person with a permanent disability.
  3. The person with a disability fills out an application supplied by Easter Seals Alberta.
  4. The form must be signed by a health professional who can verify the person with a disability needs an attendant to travel.
