Every year thousands of people gather in cities across Canada and participate in the Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay. In Alberta, this all night relay and dance party takes place in Edmonton.

This party has a purpose! Teams of 20 participants or more fundraise and gather pledges for the event and set out to run, walk or crawl for 24 hours straight in support of children, youth and young adults with physical disabilities and special needs. So, plan on camping out and staying the night, because this weekend is the social event not to be missed!

Annually, this event helps to purchase power wheelchairs, van lifts, and other necessary equipment to help raise the quality of life for Albertans with disabilities and special needs.

Returning participants already know what a rewarding weekend it is. We welcome all former participants back again this year and invite all first timers to find out what Easter Seals' is all about!

Join us for a weekend of outlandish fun, while helping out Albertans in need with your fundraising efforts.

Since their beginning, the relays in Alberta have raised more than $6.8 million dollars to date for Easter Seals kids.

Easter Seals Drop Zone Calgary

The Easter Seals Drop Zone will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the Sun Life Plaza, located at 144-4th Avenue S.W. from 7:00am to 5:30pm.

Participation in this adventure of a lifetime requires that all rapellers must raise a minimum of $1,500 in pledges while challenging their comfort zone all for a great cause.
All participants must also attend a mandatory training session prior to the event at Crux Climbing and Bouldering. www.thecruxclimbing.com

Funds raised during the event will support children and adults with disabilities in Alberta through equipment and camp programs of Easter Seals Alberta.

JC Anderson Golf Invitational

The JC Anderson Golf Invitational goes Thursday August 30, 2012 at Sirocco Golf Club in Calgary, Alberta. This event supports children and adults with disabilities and special needs in Alberta.

Join special guest, Calgary Flames Alumni and Sportsnet 960 The Fan radio personality Rhett Warrener and the friends of JC Anderson for a great day of golf for a great cause. There's plenty of sponsored beverages and food holes to quech your thirst and power up your game.

Registration is $275 and includes 18 holes of challenging golf, a power golf cart rental, dinner, a silent/live auction and a fabulous tee gift.

Superheros for a day!

Edmontonians rappelled down 29-storeys of The Sutton Place Hotel in downtown Edmonton, just like a superhero!

The Easter Seals Drop Zone was held on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Sutton Place Hotel, located at 10235 - 101 Street, Edmonton, AB.

Canada Safeway Campaign for Families Living with Disabilities

Easter Seals partners with Canada Safeway in the Spring during an in-store, month long national campaign to support Kid’s Camps across Canada.

2011's campaign ran March 28 to May 2, 2011 and was a huge success! Thank you to all customers who donated at in-store checkstands and volunteers that came out to the Easter Seals Special Day on April 9th.

Kevin Karius Easter Seals Celebrity Golf Classic

On August 22, 2012, the Kevin Karius Easter Seals Celebrity Golf Classic will kick off at the Belvedere Golf and Country Club (private course) by celebrating its 21th Anniversary.

Registration to participate in this exciting event is $275 and this includes a fabulous tee gift, buffet breakfast, 18 holes of golf on a private course, power golf cart rental, barbecue dinner and silent/live auction. There are also many sponsored beverage and food holes, and you are guaranteed not to go home hungry or thirsty. What makes our golf tournament unique among others is the chance to play with celebrity participants which include players from the Edmonton Oilers and Edmonton Eskimos Alumni, along with local media personalities and politicians.

2011 Kevin Karius Easter Seals Celebrity Golf Classic

Banded Peak Challenge for Easter Seals Camp Horizon

The 2012 Banded Peak Challenge will be Saturday, July 21st. Register today!

This unique Rocky Mountain fundraising adventure takes place in Kananaskis Country and is an all day, return 27km bike and a 13km hike to the 9,626ft summit of Banded Peak Mountain. The event does not provide mountain bikes and hiking equipment, it is up to the individual to come prepared.

The Banded Peak Challenge for Easter Seals Camp Horizon is organized annually by a group of caring Bragg Creek and Calgary area individuals whose vision is to create a unique outdoor based event that both families and individuals can participate in; while at the same time, raising important awareness and much needed support to enable children with disabilities and special needs to attend Easter Seals Camp Horizon.

Location

The event starts at the Little Elbow Recreation Area, at the end of HWY 66 in Kananaskis Country, 30 km Southwest of Bragg Creek, Alberta.

Bike to the Mountain Base Camp
Peddle 13.6 km on the Elbow Valley Trail to the base of Banded Peak Mountain. Appropriate for intermediate mountain bikers and skilled, fit, youth riders.

Hike to the Summit
A 5 km hike up game trails and loose scree to the summit of Banded Peak. Technical climbings skills are not required but we aren't kidding when we say it's a challenge. Full support hiking boots and poles are recommended.

Put the same energy and determination needed to complete the Challenge into your fundraising efforts and send deserving kids with disabilities and special needs to camp!
Fundraising pledges count towards your registration fees and enables you to win gifts and enter draws at Banded Peak Challenge outposts. Receive one prize draw ticket for every $50 you raise. Enter to win prizes at each of the 10 stations along the trail.

Make a Difference in a Child’s Life
Every $565 raised will give a special child the life-changing opportunity to spend a week at camp with others who face similar disabilities and special needs.

Easter Seals We Care Ball

The 26th annual Easter Seals We Care Ball will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Palomino Room, BMO Centre, Stampede Park.

The annual We Care Ball in Calgary is a fundraising dinner and dance event unlike any other. Hosted by the Calgary Academy of Chefs and Cooks, the most talented chefs in the finest restaurants in Calgary join together for one night and make culinary magic for Easter Seals kids.

Guests will enjoy dancing to music by the band “Fun in the Front Seat”, a Champagne Reception, Silent Auction and a Decadent Dessert Buffet.
